Modern kintsugi_February 3

Art of Using

Service Description

Service Description Kintsugi (金継ぎ) is the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold — a craft that honors cracks and imperfections as part of an object’s story. Instead of hiding traces of damage, Kintsugi transforms them into something even more beautiful, celebrating resilience and renewal. In this one-day workshop, we will practice Modern Kintsugi (簡易金継ぎ / 간이킨츠기) — a contemporary, beginner-friendly approach that preserves the spirit of traditional Hon Kintsugi while using safe, modern materials instead of natural lacquer (urushi). Together, we’ll go step-by-step through the process of restoring a broken ceramic piece. You will learn how to reassemble your piece and apply a gold finish to highlight its unique lines of repair. By the end of the session, you will bring home your repaired piece — now a one-of-a-kind work carrying a story of transformation. ////////////////////// ////////////////////// When: Tuesday, February 3, 19:00-21:00 Where:
