Yoho first started in Seoul, Korea.
I was working as a ceramic artist in Korea for over eight years, and my studio there was also called Studio Yoho, which is a combination of two Chinese characters in Korean pronunciation. 'Yo' means kiln (ceramic oven), and 'Ho' means house. During that time, I displayed my work in various countries and sold handmade ceramics in markets and to tea companies. I enjoyed teaching workshops, and holding regular courses both in the studios and outside.

Education
2018
Aalto University, Product & Spacial Design, Helsinki, Finland
2005
Kookmin University, Ceramic art & craft, Korea

In 2013, I moved to Helsinki to learn design, which was a transformative experience for me. One fundamental question that was asked during my studies was why we still produce products in this world. This made me feel lost and guilty. I eventually left ceramics behind and started looking for a new path. I focused on experience design and chose food as a medium. Later I founded a food design studio in Helsinki called AÄÅ with two other designers and organized diverse food events. I discovered how much I loved working with people and sharing what I had to offer, whether it was food or ceramics. After six years of design experience, I moved to the Netherlands to start my family.
So why am I back to ceramics now? I find craft to be the best medium for me. It allows me to connect with people from different walks of life, be it a chef, gardener, barista, and many more. Plus, craft is a great tool to be more conscious about daily objects in sustainable and aesthetic ways. When you make your tableware to fit you perfectly, you will enjoy using them thoroughly. Then it will gradually make you see familiar everyday objects from a new perspective.
Therefore, the workshops I offer are designed meticulously to cater to your preferences. I will happily assist you in creating durable and aesthetically pleasing products that you can use for a long time.

Hope to meet you in the studio :)

Min Say

I’m Say, and I am a practitioner of Kintsugi. With a background in ceramics from my bachelor’s studies, I searched for another form of craft that could deepen my connection to the material. That’s when I discovered Kintsugi and trained under Kyoko Ohwaki in Japan and Yuko Gunji in New York. Today, I am fully dedicated to Kintsugi and the wonderfully wholesome world that surrounds it. What I love most about this craft is that I am not the one creating beauty—the beauty already exists. My role is simply to uncover it and let it be rediscovered.
